This idea came from the Martha Stewart show. Once I figured out the dimensions, it was quite easy to make. I used 12'X12" cardstock divided into four, 6" squares. I then scored in 1 1/2" from each of the four sides and basically made a box top fashioned after the explosion boxes seen on this site. Next, I cut a 13 1/2" X 5" piece of parchment paper (found at grocery & gourmet shops.) I also cut a strip of 13 1/2" by 1 1/2 inch of parchment. After stamping both pieces of the parchment, I wrapped them around the box top (which for this project is actually the bottom of your gift bag). The 1 1/2" strip was glued on top of the larger piece as an accent at the bottom of the gift bag. I stapled the bag closed in the middle then added an embellishment with ribbon. I plan on using this bag (with a little bit of cello grass inside) to hold a store gift card.
