Hmm, that didn't photograph too well... I was excited about the color combo, as Taken with Teal and Not Quite Navy are some of my favorite colours.
I decided to go back to basics and do a little bit of crayon-resist. The glossy paper was then sponged with ink (both Teal and Not Quite Navy) and spritzed with the air tool.
To make the medallion, I used my oval Coluzzle. I cut the glossy paper first, then I cut a bigger oval out of scrap paper. I traced this oval onto my Navy cardstock, and then, with the smallest circle of my Coluzzle template, I cut out half-circles all around my oval. That's how I created the scalloped edge. It didn't come in even at the top, but the Hodgepodge piece covers it up.
I also played with my gel pen: I added some shading to the Print Pattern background, some shading to the scalloped edge, and some polka dots on the brads and on the organza ribbon.
Then I stamped a small sentiment (Smile) in the bottom half of my oval with Navy ink.
