My husband, stepson, and I recently vacationed in Florida, and I had the good fortune to take some time to meet Kittie Caracciolo (Kittie747). For those of you who are familiar with and love Kittie's work, you can only imagine how excited I was! The first time we met was for lunch at her place of work where we had an engaging two hours together! She is such a delightful person; it was like we had been friends forever! I also met a few of her co-workers, who are also Splitcoaststampers (ladyjanek, cerindo, moonchild4965, and wereids---I'll be checking out their galleries and hope you will, too.)
Kittie and I met again a couple days later at her beautiful home where I saw her awesome stamping space and watched the artist in action. She shared with me her techniques and tools that she uses to create her beautiful scenery cards and then had me make a couple of my own scenes on watercolor paper, which I will incorporate into cards. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous having the master watch me, but she is such a friendly and humorous person that she quickly put me at ease.
Here are a few pictures I'd like to share with all of you of our time together. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside--what a gorgeous smile! There are so many wonderful people on this site that I would like to meet in person, and I was certainly blessed to meet this charming lady.
Kittie, thank you so much for the time we had together, your generosity, and the great memories I'll have!
We were just goofing off and decided to take a picture of ourselves in the mirror.

Oh, how fun!!!! I can imagine your excitement at going to Kittie's to stamp and have a little lesson -- how lucky you are -- now just remember -- you are supposed to teach me what you learned on your next trip to the UP -- I'm counting on it!!! Fun, fun, fun!!!
Oh did we laugh as we realized that Charlene was looking down at the camera for the first picture. We had to make ourselves look up to get a picture together. Neither of us knew how to set the timer on the camera so we could get a picture together. Charlene came up with this idea.

Oh my. How lucky you are. Kitty is a true artist. What part of Florida is this? I come there multiple times a year to visit my daughter. No lessons, but would love to say hi to Ms. Kittie747. You didn't need lessons (I've seen your gallery) but I bet anyone can learn a few good pointers. Happy for you.

What a couple of nuts.....look at the two of you...Taking a picture of yourself in a mirror....isn't that something that 12 year olds do? I'm jealous, I want to be a 12 year old! What would have been even funnier, would have been setting the timer and seeing one of you scurry to get in the picture, okay that could have resulted in a picture of one you and half of the other! Good thinking Charlene...I thought you two looked like you were on the virge of cracking up!

So neat to see your pic's and what a great time you had together.
I have to say I am jealous-I would have loved to spend time with you two. Splitcoast has made lots of us good friends. Just hope I get the chance you two got and get to meet some of them. Thanks for sharing your pic's and the good time you had together.

Lucky you! I'm a big fan of Kittie's talents! How cute that the two of you snapped the photo in front of the mirror. I'm camera-timer challenged too and could relate to this. What a hoot!
