Mom always wanted to drive the Pacific Coast Highway from Oregon to California, a life goal she decided she needed to cross off her list almost as soon as she retired. So in October, we set off, driving from her house to mine. The idea was to take our time, stopping whenever we felt like it as we meandered our way down the highway. Little did we know weÂ’d only managed a hundred miles a day the first day! Our first major stop was at DevilÂ’s Churn near Florence, where we took a mile hike along the coastline and through the forest. It was a gorgeous fall day, crisp and clear. It was the perfect kick-off to our five-day drive down the 101.
I knew what photos I wanted to use for this challenge, but I was struggling with how to incorporate the Olympic colors. I found the piece of patterned paper and worked from there: Sage shadow for the green, cranberry crisp for the red, buckaroo blue for the blue and marigold morning for the yellow. The black is in the words in two of the three pieces of vellum. Thanks for a great challenge, Anita.
