I made these for my DH for Christmas 2006. He has started getting into fantasy sports leagues and so I made him an altered notebook to write down drafting notes and each week's matches. The other book is for keeping board and card game scores in. The function of both of these books was previously filled by using little scraps of paper, but we both like having notebooks to do that now.
Both of these books were coil-bound notebooks found in the local Walmart school supplies aisle. Both are covered in elephant dung paper made by Elliepooh in Sri Lanka. I was sneaky and asked my DH to help me pick out some colours from my elliepooh paper stash because I'd decided to use it rather than hoard it. I made the cover for the one on the right first, by tearing out a sheet of notepaper from the book, adhering it with removable adhesive to a sheet of elliepooh paper cut to size, and punching holes in the elliepooh paper where the holes in the notepaper were. As I was making these on Christmas Eve, for the second one I decided the colours of my papers went 'well enough' with the colours that would show through from the cover of the notebook so I just layered the cover on rather than go through the whole punching process again.
All images are from free clip-art sites and were printed onto white cs. I used liquid glass-type product for all adhering because the elliepooh paper is so textured.
Thanks for looking!

OMGosh. That is so cool. My dh loves fantasy sports. I hate that he keeps his paper in his laptop. I have got to make him one of these. This would make a great craft show idea also. Hope you don't mind if I steal it. Love your papers BTW. Fabulous card picture.

These turned out great. I especially like the paper--it has such great texture and really gives the notebooks dimension. Love the burgandy and beige together.
