Most of my sets were stored in a tall rolling cart but I really wanted to make use of the vertical space in this very small room; I bought this bookcase on Saturday and got rid of two carts. I don't really like storing individual stamps in shoeboxes like this; too many to dig through to get at. Any ideas for a better system to fit on my bookcase? There are four more shoeboxes on the very top.

Congratulations on your stamping space. I agree with another poster - order the empty stamp-and-supply cases from Stampin'Up!.
My other suggestion is to get additional shelves/pegs for your bookcase. Customize the space between shelves to maximize your storage and store the stamp cases vertically on the shelves (like some are on the bottom shelf). I wish I could do this but I have virtually no wall space in my room, so I use several rolling carts.

I was going to say the clear boxes from SU! You could then divide them up into catagories ex. flowers, sentiments, birthday, etc.... Good luck but it looks great! I just took all of my sets out of carts but first I had my dh buy me the wire shelves for them. THEN, I decided that I wanted to put them on my tall bookcase (just like yours) and keep all of my other "essentials" close at hand (as my desk is underneath them). One of these days I'll get the nerve to post pics of my stamping place!

Wow! Thanks for the ideas, ladies! NEVER would have thought of using the acrylic shadowbox frames...had to think on what they are, at first! But that sounds like a cheaper solution than buying SU cases, so I'll give that a whirl. I also need to weed thru those stamps and pass along what I havent' used in...a...long...time... or NOT! ;)

I have the same bookcases in my stamp room. My husband went with me to Home Depot and we bought a long piece of white melamine, which he brought home and sawed to fit the bookcase so now instead of 4 or 5 shelves I have 7. Some of the shelves are very narrow so I put some of my favorite stamps out on display. We just bought a pack of the little hinges that hold the shelves up.
If you want to keep your stamps in boxes but keep the boxes out and looking nice, Michaels has those photo boxes on sale quite often 2/$3 .... I have a ton of them in white and they match the bookcase and make the space look very clean. The SU boxes are good too, but they are clear so you can see what's inside. I liek the white ones cuz it helps to hide the mess inside them! LOL.
If you want to display loose stamps that don't belong to any stamps, places like Ikea sell very narrow shelves (like 5" deep) that mount to the wall. I ahve a customer who has a whole wall with these shelves up and that's the way she stores her stamps (even her SU sets ... which makes me want to cringe that she doesn't keep them in the boxes they came in!).
