This is the card front I made for the INK-redible Canadians SAB '07 swap. I had quite a few false starts with this card. (It's my first swap so I wanted it to be nice.) Then I found debils' great card and used its layout for inspiration: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=84412
I'm quite pleased with how my swap card turned out and I can't wait to see the cards I'm going to get!
For the focal image, I made several sheets in the one-sheet-wonder style by stamping the flower and masking it off to get an all-over pattern. I found that using four masks gave a good result without endless cutting. Once I'd stamped, I coloured in the flowers with Almost Amethyst WWC and painted over with water with my aquapainter. I highlighted the flowers with Lavender Lace and a tiny bit of Elegant Eggplant. A swirl of Taken with Teal in the centres finished the painting. Once the images were cut and mounted I added a touch of dazzling diamonds to the centres and line-y bits on the petals, just for a bit of sparkle. 37 cards later, there is quite a bit of dazzling diamond dust around! But who could mind that lovely twinkle in unexpected places.
Thanks for looking!
