I received an e-mail late Wed nite asking for our kids to be dressed for halloween (not in costume) for the daycare at the gym, and to bring along treats to share. (It was forcasted for rain so they were planning ahead). I whipped the shirt up in 30 minutes this morning. The treats I had made for a party later in the day, so I took them. The bags were for the kids, the pill bottles were for the moms.

Wow! I can see a use for the pill bottles I accumulate and never know what to do with. I don't know why pharmacies don't recycle them. Thanks for sharing this cool idea. Now that Halloween is past, I'm thinking M & M's!

Adorable. I have a box of pill bottles, too! I knew there was something I could do with them! My husband laughs at me for saving all this stuff...soup cans, fruit cups, etc. Now before he throws away a container, he asks me if I'm saving this, TOO?! lol. The big tease! Your bottles are so cute!!!

I suppose you all think about this, but it doesn't hurt to say it out loud here. Please be careful about reusing pill bottles with food items. Make sure they are washed out and free of any residue (or dust) from the medication. Sometimes medications are so powerful that just handling them by someone other than the person they are intended for can make you sick. It would be sad if this cute idea caused someone to become sick or worse die from a reaction. A quick call to the pharmacy would let you know if there could be a potential problem from reusing the bottle.
It would be great if we could get unused pill bottles for this cute project. I'm sure the mom's thought it was really funny when they got them! I know, I'd have thought it was really clever! Love how you did the ribbon, too! Did you have to punch holes in the lid or did it come this way? (Can you tell I don't have a lot of pill bottles around? - I got into a bottle of pills when I was really little and nearly died on the way to the hospital.)

These bottles I got for free from my Pharmacist, I just told him I was making a gift and could i buy some, they just gave them to me. After I made these, even though they are cute, I was keenly aware that they could be dangerous (kids getting the candy and medications mixed up) that's why I only gave them to the moms. And as the wife of a Pharmacist, you would think I would have entertained the thought of drug interactions! (no my husband didn't get them for me, I went to my local pharmacy)
