This is the house my grandparents lived in when I was growing up....
Journaling: This place conjures up so many memories….how many hours did we play “Mother, may I?” on this pea gravel driveway, or throw horseshoes in the dust, or dig miles of waterways with Maw maw's silver spoons that she used to throw to us out of the crank-open windows. I loved going there because Life there was so laid back and unhurried. I used to love being “bumped” in the old cane-seat chairs, and trying to sneak through the porch door past Uncle James. Once we flipped ourselves completely out of the porch swing. The only time I ever tasted snow cream was on these steps. Hunting for Easter eggs, running in circles around the roots of that big old tree. Crepe myrtles and day lilies and moss. So many wonderful childhood memories.
The old house place was sold not long after Maw Maw passed away in 1968, just before I turned eleven. Pawpaw moved in to a trailer behind dUncle Jack's, and trips to Mississippi after that were never the same.
I'll always cherish the old house place.
Thanks for looking, and thanks so much for this challenge. Of all the pages I've ever scrapped, this one means the most, even though it is relatively simple and unadorned.

So neat to see how you did this. I had an old photo of what our house looked like in the first 50 years of its life and I couldn't quite get myself to scrap it yet. I'm so glad you did yours and shared it with us!!
