For this technique you'll need a shallow dish, water, pastels/chalk, paper towels, cardstock and a knife or something to scrape with. Sorry, I don't remember where I learned this or what it's called! Anywho, fill a dish with some water (try to choose a dish or container about the size of your cardstock. Too big and the chalk will float everywhere...waste of chalk!) Hold your pastels over the water and lightly scrape with your knife. Use as many colors as you want. The more pastels you scrape, the more prominent the background will be. Take your cardstock and lay it flat on top of the water (don't submerge, you just want the paper to collect what's on top of the water). Pick it Straight back up (tilting will cause the water and chalk to run....unless you want it to, it may look cool) and lay it (still face down) on paper towels to soak up the excess water. Dry. Stamp to your taste or leave as is, and voila! You have a pretty nifty background. I did mine really light, so I magnified part of it so you can see it better. I'll do another later that's easier to see
