I made “baby’s first year” scrapbooks for two friends of mine last year and I’m just now getting around to posting the pictures. Each month has a two-page layout done in seasonal colors and each one has a space for a 5x7 photo and several smaller ones. I wrote the sizes for the pictures on the mats so the new moms would be able to tell what size pictures they’d need to put in each place. I also left space for journaling (the white block). Titles for each month were done with a Sizzix machine.
This is the Easter/spring layout for the baby girlÂ’s book; for the boy I changed the colors so it was a green background I think (didnÂ’t take a picture of that oneÂ…other than this layout and the title page, the books were pretty much identical). I stamped the butterfly from Never-Ending Joy in Pretty in Pink ink on the outside edges of the pages (kinda hard to see in the picture) and again in Lavender Lace next to the title. ThereÂ’s a thin strip of Barely Banana separating the butterfly border from the rest of the page. I had to use darker colors in the flowers because it seemed too washed out using pink and amethyst. Three of the photos are 4x5, the vertical space on the right is for a 4x6 picture.
