This is my favorite part of the room. It is a bay shaped area that was SUPPOSED to be a closet. But, the rules say that if you put a closet in a room, then the room becomes a bed room and then you must have a window in a bedroom. No window, no closet. So I got built in shelves instead and had to come up with "pretty" ways to store all my stampin' stuff! The black boxes are from staples ($8 each), the white photoboxes I found online for $3 each, and the 12x12 storage is from SU! The baskets underneath hold my finished cards, and the glass ribbon jars are from World Trader (I think) and cost between $2-$7 a jar. The hat boxes I found at a Bombay outlet store for $18. The bottom line is that it would have been cheaper for me to bribe the inspector to let me have a closet rather than open shelves!

I can see why it's your favorite part of the whole room, it would probably be mine, too. Very nice. I'm so jealous. Love the white boxes. I've never seen them anywhere and my future stamping room is going to be white, so I think I'll be searching on-line for the nice white boxes.

Just an idea. Your shelves look lovely, but if are like me then they won't stay that way long. If you hang a curtain/shower rod across the front and sweep the curtain to one side you only have to keep one side neat at a time! I do this in my office and if things are messy from a work frenzy I can just untie the pullback and hide the mess if someone shows up unexpectedly.

Have a magical day!
I think you area is beautiful and elegant. A clean and simple look. The different storage boxes give it such an eclectic look. This type of storage is awesome becuase you tend to hoard less and there is not a lot of room for clutter. An area that will fascinate anyone you show it to. Every artist needs a studio that is designed . It gives value and respect to your art and creativity. Best wishes in your area. Enjoy!

I agree - this is the best part of the room. I loved the way you made excellent use of the space (since you couldn't have the closet). The shelves and different boxes are both functional for storage and beautiful! Love your room!

This is just so nice. I love the black boxes from Staples; I have some of the small ones and they are so sturdy!! I will be getting some big ones when I re-do my stamp room.
