My Melted Pearls Birthday card for our son who is our adventurer. He has seen turtles in the wild along with many other wild things.....like penquins in Antarctica. Thanks again Beate for a fun and so well described technique. I stamped the turtle shell onto basic black CS with versamark. Heat embossed with clear EP and added Duo Blue/green Pearl Ex and heated. It gave the shell a green shimmer. I put 2 layers of dimensional tape in the center of the shell and sticky strip on the sides to raise the shell. It looks so real IRL. Hope you can tell in the scan. I was inspired to do the faux leather useing TP by "leslierich" and her gorgeous gift set. I used Creamy Caramel CS and TP dabbed with CC ink until I got the effect I wanted. Sponged edges with Choc. Chip after tearing. I sewed with linen thread after using my mat pack. For an after thought I stamped the piece with my Art of Life BG stamp. The BG is Print Pattern and AOL BG....Brocade ink on Brocade CS. Lots of fun techniques in this card. Thanks for looking, nancy

Wow! That turtle shell definitely looks 3D! And that paper really does look like stitched leather. Nice background and ribbon treatment using the hardware. Great card, Nancy! TFS. Linda

Wonderful card, Nancy! The turtle shell looks wonderful and I love the faux leather with the stitching! The double BG goes really well with the other textures and the sentiment hanging from the hardware is great! He should love it!

Oh, I love that hand tooled leather look! I can't wait to see this in person because I know those melted pearls are going to melt my heart! Nice idea for the background, too, and the hardware is always a great accent.
