Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. In addition to the three beautiful colors she gave us (Pool Party, Lost Lagoon, and Calypso Coral), her dessert option gives us the opportunity to add two more colors to our palette. Always one for dessert, I added Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight, and used these five colors to create my own DS paper.
The idea for these cards comes from a class I took with Taylored Expressions. The stamp set was designed for this purpose, but really you could use any set that has small individual stamps. The idea is like a one-sheet wonder, but you decorate only 1/2 sheet and then use that sheet to make four cards.
For the largest flowers, I stamped in Pool Party, then pounced a sponge dauber into Lost Lagoon ink and pounced onto the center of the rubber before stamping. I like the slight change in shade, which I think adds a feeling of depth to the flowers.
Three of these cards have already been mailed, so I left them flat. But I can see further embellishing them with gems and ribbon for some texture and variety in future fun with this technique.
I'm eager to see what colors people add to the three challenge colors this week! Please play along with us and show us what 'ya got!

If you hadn't stated that you created your own DP, I would have thought it was a purchased one. It is fabulous! Like how you built your stash of thank you notes using this created design to great use. All of them are stunning.
