This week the Tea Potters are sending birthday wishes to Eleanor who is turning 96!. Our hostess, Jen (Jennifrann), pondered the use and changes in slang over those years and challenged us to incorporate some into our design. I designed this "nifty" sentiment to tell Eleanor that she is "da bomb".
I started by stamping the HA bg and then ink blending over that with the same color. Bellini was a bit too orange to be peach (one of Eleanor's fav colors) so I swiped the Yeti white ink pad over it several times to tone it down and get a more "peachy" look. It may be apricot -- I always have trouble telling the difference as that just isn't the part of the color wheel I usually play in. Colored and cut the flowers and leaves and pasted it all down. The frames around the label and edge were colored with the two darker shades of Green COPICs. The sentiment was computer generated using Fontdinerdotcom font for "Nifty" and a fifties vibe; Keep On Trucking font for "da bomb" and a 90's vibe (according to Google); and Hughes font for the rest. Finished it off with some Iridescent Bubbles.
I hope all the fun and beautiful cards headed to Eleanor will add to her celebration on this very special day. Hope you are celebrating today too. For me: the sky is blue, it's not raining (at least today) and I played with some COPICs markers I rarely used. I call that something to celebrate. TFL.

Gorgeous use of peach here, Debbie. Lovely flowers and paper and other details, but that sentiment totally steals the show. PERFECT words. Wow. Hugz

These large flowers are gorgeous and beautifully colored. I love your fun greeting and I think you've done a good job of achieving a peach color! Peach always does flummox me! Over the years I've had various shades of card stock and ink that were called "peach" but have never found one I actually like!

I had to laugh , for the fairly recent MIX challenge which was peach, I used a pigment powder that called itself Apricot. Wonderful background, it looks like brocade. And those flowers are beautiful - old fashioned roses. Great sentiment with fun fonts.
