Happy Friday! This card is for this week's WCW-painting a daisy and today's F4A. I'm stretching the F4A, I guess, but I did create a background first. I sketched the daisy (wish I'd made it a little bigger) and painted the background around it. Added some sea salt for texture, let that dry, then added some highlights and a yellow center to the daisy. The sun was shining on the card so it looks a little washed out and I have no idea why there is that white blob on the left. Too much salt? Who knows?
Thanks for the challenges; I think Karen Rice is one of my favorite watercolorists (or should I say watercolourists, since she's from the UK?).

Gorgeous and I hope you liked using the sea salt as much as I like it. It gives wonderful texture. Very pretty colors for your background.

I really like the smoky, sultry background. You followed the best sequence of steps by doing the background first. The daisy was created from the negative space. That's the way to do it. And I agree that this gal is really a good painter.
