Color Challenge hosted by Chris: Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, Black with the dessert option of using a second green.
I am later than usual for the Color Challenge, because we were in Texas visiting our DD & SIL to see their first house. There was a fabulous view of the total Solar Eclipse from their backyard. Amazing event!
Since I am creating later in the week, I am also inspired by the Ways to Use It Challenge hosted by Polly: Sequins, Beads or Gems
For my card, I started with a white card base, a piece of black/white gingham and a scrap in CC for a border. I stamped the sentiment. I used my MISTI and also I used the My Sweet Petunia Alignment Grids for the very first time. Amazing! What a game changer! I highly recommend this product!
I stamped flowers in Crushed Curry and die-cut. The leaves were two-step stamped for which a second green came in handy! They are also die-cut. The top flower was popped up.
The white flower centers were die-cut and I added a black gem & a few bright green gems.
Thanks for the terrific colors and embellishment challenges! TFL

This is so bright and happy looking! I really like the b/w checked part and using it on only half of your layout...Great use of gems!
Sounds like so much fun seeing the eclipse from the backyard of your family. You lucky duck!

Awesome birthday card. Those yellows flowers pair great with the b/w gingham. I didn't get to see the eclipse because of clouds. Yuck

This is so pretty Diane and great work for both challenges. Seeing the eclipse from Texas must have been great. We saw it from our yard as well in Pittsburgh, but it was only 97% totality but still amazing.

This is a beautifully designed card. It looks very cheerful and made me smile. We went camping to be in the path of totality; it really was an amazing sight.
