This is for the watercolor & teapot challenges this week. Theresa is struggling with the recent loss of both her husband AND a dear friend. We are to use an Ombre bg on our cards. (Darkest before the dawn)
WC challenge is to paint a simple daisy with using minimal colors. I sketched a loose daisy on my panel and started by doing a light wash of blue intensifying the color as I moved down the panel by mixing bits of paynes grey into the blue. I also used the grey to add some veins and shadows to the flower petals. The olive for the stem & leaves is a mix of blue & yellow. plain yellow for the daisy center with some brown taped on the edges for shadow & interest.
Stamped the PB sentiment with versamark and embossed with Snow White EP.

Wonderful sketching of the daisy and I like the shadows very much. Your ombre background is awesome. Super sentiment, also.

This is a real eye catcher in the gallery. The contrast of your beautiful daisy against the blue gradient background is just so lovely. I find it very peaceful.

Lovely card with the brilliant daisy against the striking blue gradient background. I like how you added the paynes gray for the darkest value. The sentiment is perfect done with the white. Thanks for stopping by and adding your terrific painting.

Your card for Theresa is not only visually stunning but also carries a heartfelt message of support during her time of grief. The ombre background, representing the idea of "darkest before the dawn," adds depth and symbolism to your watercolor daisy. The use of minimal colors and the embossed sentiment beautifully capture the simplicity and beauty of hope in difficult times.
