According to Atticus, the quote is true. You ask, 'who is Atticus?' Well, it's not Atticus Finch, it's Atticus the Weimaraner. My sister and BIL belong to Atticus and he is a typical Weim: aloof, friendly, jumps on people, barks deeply and scares me when he does so. He's a gorgeous dog but 'you can't judge a book by its cover' as the library card says. He isn't my favorite but he's gorgeous and part of the family.
This card is made from a store bought birthday card that I received a while ago from a friend. I cut off the front and added the stamping. Weimaraners are called 'gray ghosts' because of their coloring so that's how I colored the pup. Atticus has the longest tongue and is very good at stealing food with it. I am addicted to greeting cards in general and have quite a stash of saved ones. I either have to put them in a scrapbook or upcycle them. All one needs is a dog and a good book. Whether the dog is a good dog could be debatable.
Thanks for the challenge, Sabrina!

I really enjoyed your write-up. But - is Atticus the dog named after Atticus Finch? It certainly sounds like something Atticus would have lived by. I miss those old-fashioned library cards, and even the stamped page in the front of a book now it's all digital. Your Atticus the dog looks cute - and the pile of books looks like a treasure-house.
Our black afghan was a rescue dog from a house where she was ill-treated, and she was the only one of our dogs who ever chewed things - including books :-(.

I'm with Sabrina; I miss library stamps as well, so it's fun to see them on your card. I am a little worried that pup isn't going to judge a book, just chew on it.

Oh how fun, a dog and books all on one card. Nothing better. Great dog image. I am really enjoying all the dog cards. They are great inspiration for my donations.

I agree with Sabrina ... I miss those old-fashioned library cards! Our son had a Weimaraner and the memory of his fun personality and his gorgeous coat is still with me.
