Karen is hosting the color challenge this week with Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. Dessert is anything goes. Fall Colors are more or less history where I live. Crumb Cake colored mulch is pretty much what's left so I'm not likely to be sending out fall cards at this point. I decided to see if I could take these colors in a honey and hearts direction.
I snapped my photo prior to adhering the inside to the card.
By using Pecan Pie instead of black I could make this bee look more like a honey bee so it works better with the greeting. The honey jar was cut out from some coordinating DSP and while the colors were close, adding some depth with the actual colors was fun to try.
Thank you so much for taking a peek! These are fun colors and I'm so curious to see what others come up with.

This is such a cute card Chris and I love the sweet little winking bee. I just bought the twisted rope embossing folder and I like how you used it here.

I love your choice of the twisted rope embossing folder .... it adds wonderful texture! Your sweet little bee and those added hearts make this a 'honey' of a card!

Super cute and just bee-utiful! Your idea played out wonderfully with the challenge colors. The bee looks great in the curry & brown and I love the heart shaped vellum wings. The red hearts add just the right pop. Fabulous embossing. Well done!
