I could not leave town without doing Polly's challenge.
I could have a lending library in my basement. I have four floor to ceiling bookcases, filled with kid's books, novels, young adult, Christmas, non-fiction. It is a joy to behold. I buy fewer books than I used to but I still like to hold a book and see the pictures.
I have made a habit of picking up interesting books at Goodwill or other resale shops and they tend to be children's because of the illustrations. That's where I got 'The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything' by Linda Williams. I have always meant to make a few Halloween cards with it; finally, I did so. Simple because of lack of time, I just cut out a good illustration, added some text from that page and a few clear Stickles for atmosphere.
I scare easily, always have. I tend to jump at loud, sudden noises, don't like scary movies except for vintage ones, although I'm not scared of the dark. So there you are. Thanks, Pol!

I love this illustration, and am an avid collector myself. We have bookcases all over, sometimes two in a room. Wherever you're going, I'm sure you're taking a book along (I always do!).

One of my most favorite books that I shared with my kindergarten classes every fall. Loved seeing" The Little Old Lady who was not afraid of anything" featured on your wonderful card today. Children's books so wonderfully illustrated are some of my all time favorite books.

That illustration is amazing....so colorful and delightful! What a fun card. I'm glad you had to play before going up north I assume. Enjoy your time there..

That is fabulous! Hate to see a book cut up but it went for a good cause! Although the old lady doesn’t look that old to me, in fact she looks a lot like my first girlfriend from 30mor so years ago…

I love the illustrations in children's books. It is a mission of mine to re-locate books to good homes. Maybe I should have kept a few for purposes like this! Great card with a great sentiment.
