I stretched things slightly - when I started in kindergarten it was the junior school attached to the senior school where my dad taught, so I got lifts with him or a neighbour. But when I started in the school in our village, my mother would push her bicycle, letting each of us ride on the saddle for one third of the journey, and we would walk two thirds. Then she'd cycle home with my youngest sister, whom she home-schooled for a few years until I started secondary school and she could travel in on the bus with me. When I think about it, my mother must have pushed me for the first downhill part, because I certainly remember tramping through the leaves in the ditches beside the main road.
Stamped the bicycle, masked the wheels, added in the birch background and coloured with Polychromos. Actually it was mostly beech and horse chestnut trees along the road.

Darling image, colored so nicely, especially the frog!!! (You know I love frogs.) It sits on my mantel where I can enjoy it every day. Hugs and Love, my dear friend!

Sabrina, this is so incredibly cute! I love the image and love reading about your traveling. What a fond memory of your getting to school and super card to help tell the story.
