This photo reminded me of a stamp set from SU with its arcing wave pattern and colors. I think the SU's designers were inspired by a famous 19th c. Japanese woodblock print, "The Great Wave", in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. I used that print as inspiration as well. Watercolor resist technique was used for the wave itself. TH OIs were used for the sky. I liked the action of the wave and didn't want to distract from it with a sentiment.

The print that inspired you is wonderful, transposed to a card. Must be a tsunami near Mt. Fuji.
