I was very excited to try today's TLC, as I had come upon this video a few weeks ago. For this one, I used a 3D folder. I made two larger backgrounds so I could cut them in half to make four cards (one still in progress), although both backgrounds looked pretty similar. I decided to leave off a sentiment until later. Because I worked on this piece meal, I totally forgot about splattering...where is my brain today?? I could still do it if I mask off the white base or just accept that I'll get splatter on it. I'll do better with the one I haven't finished yet. Thanks, Sabrina, thrilled to try this. I didn't have any trouble with the markers, although it does take a while to color in the black. I would assume any gray ink would work or maybe even just do black ink?? Not sure.
Finally, I'm submitting this for yesterday's FS....such a lovely gallery, Imke! Bloom Wildly by germanstampler at Splitcoaststampers

Fantastic -- for both challenges. Love the big bold embossed blooms. I probably would not have picked that EF thinking there wasn't enough black space around the individual flowers and too much around the edges, but you have me rethinking that because this looks stunning. Love the bit of gold trim and rounded corners. FYI -- my only gray ink was Distress Oxide and that did not work well for this. You know how DOX doesn't play well with other inks in this case the Sharpie. I used a dark green on my card which I really liked and have tried some other colors with varying success. Somewhat darker is better than lighter I think. And, love how this card has the feel of Imke's card with that big center bloom and the various colors but is so distinctly different in looks. Great CASE. Fabulous card.

Lucky you to have 3-D folders which really makes the gold embossing at the end super effective. I especially like how you just tipped the edges of all the petals with that gilding.
