I fell in love with these cards and this technique the moment I saw this YouTube Video:
I just love the rich dramatic look of her bright colors against the black and the gold highlights. I won't go through the steps as they are much better explained in the video; but, I did learn a couple lessons.
(1) The only gray inks I own are Distress Oxides. I was pretty sure they wouldn't play nice with the Sharpies and I was right. They were ok, but the black bg really didn't get very dark. So, I switched out the gray for a dark green (sorry I don't remember the name of the color) and that worked well.
2) I tried to make my own "mica spray", but I didn't get that much sheen from it. I don't know if I made it incorrectly or if my spray bottle just had too fine of a mist. It's there but not as bright as Sandy's card. On the plus side, it didn't gum up my Sharpies.
3) I tried this with a different ef that was a floral frame. I didn't like that the entire center was black with no texture, pattern or color. Even this ef had a bit too much empty black space for my taste, but a lot of that got covered with the sentiment.
Hope that helps and I hope you give this technique a try. TFL

When Sabrina created her TLC for today, I was so excited because I had found this video a few weeks ago and thought it was stunning. This card you sent her is exquisite. I had thought about doing it as a TLC myself. So thanks for giving the TLC this gift. Your creativity is such a gift itself.
