I kept the focal tree, and some of the layout and changed other things.
First, I watercolored the Christmas tree in a loose watercolor style. This was attempt 2 out of 3 and the one my daughter liked best of the three. In doing the layout, I first tried to cut around the tree at the top and bottom and insert things behind it but didn't really like that so I went ahead and fussy cut the tree (that is some thick watercolor paper!).
I chose Pool Party for the card base and added Island Indigo lightly sponging all around the edges. I then added the Snowflake stencil and sponged a little more.
I die cut a scalloped oval rug for under the tree and added an edge in Real Red. I die cut a white glitter snowflake and lots of tiny branches and then worked on the layout. The tree is popped up with foam tape. I added a few red gems and stamped the sentiment to complete the card.
Congratulations, Heather, enjoy your week! Thanks for the challenges and thanks for looking!

A fabulous Christmas card with the pretty tree. I love the rug and the added snowflake.

I love that you were brave enough to fussy cut a watercolored tree. It came out well and I LOVE that background. Super pretty case/card, Catherine. Lovely Christmas card. Hugz

Gorgeous -- the tree, the bg, the snowflakes -- all of it, Gorgeous. I do love your tree and appreciate your fussy cutting of it; but, I adore that blue bg with the snowflake stenciling. It sets the stage so beautifully and that deep beautiful green of your tree really shines against it. Fabulous card, Catherine.
