This VSN challenge was to use up some leftovers.
When I get new-to-me dies, I do a trial run cut from scrap paper to see how well the dies cut. These pieces were still laying on my desktop from a recent trial run cutting session. So, I pulled a cardbase from my bin of previously prepared card bases and began playing with these diecut pieces. I decided to muddy up (aka antique) the pieces using blending brushes and watered down ink in the colors listed above. I pulled out a phrase from my scrap collection I had saved from old magazines. I thought this phrase was perfect for this challenge! Again, I added color. Then the arranging and gluing down the pieces into a satisfying look took but a few minutes.

I need to get better about using my dies as soon as I get them to make sure they cut. That is a brilliant idea and then I am not surprised months later when I go to use them. Love these die cuts.

that oval wreath is really cool, I love antique linen its totally a go-to color for me so since I do something similar ( using scrap cardstocks and cheap watercolor paper) I was grinning from ear to ear to read the backstory.

What a great idea to save the "trial run" dies. Great job.
