Sometimes easy is not so easy - I struggled with this challenge (such is life) and while I would consider these the best 3 out of my 8 tries at this technique, I'm not ready to make any of them into a card. (Maybe if they lay on my desk for a time I'll change my mind)
My own assessment is that no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't seem to get enough length to the petals so the blooms just ended up too short and stubby to be visually pleasing. Ah well - maybe I'll try again on a day when strangers aren't streaming in and out of my house working on quotes for my busted glass. But it sure would be nice to have a REAL patio door back in place by Easter instead of the ugly particle board that's currently up!

Not sure why you don't like them, they are lovely. Would it be the size of the brush you used. Oh yes those leaves are amazing. All three should be made into cards. Glad to hear the patio window is getting repaired. Fav'd

The petals are lovely, the leaves are equally as lovely.....look like tissue-thin tulips to me, Linda. I think you did a great job with the challenge. Hope you household settles down.
Linda, I think they are beautiful! I think you are being too hard on yourself. I love that they seem to be dancing in the breeze. Beautiful colors. I am glad you posted, and I hope you will make them into cards! OH! and I hope you get a solid door by Easter! Hugs!

I think you did great on these! I got too frustrated and threw my attempts away. I hear you on the house repairs...we have been in the middle of replacing all our windows since January, but the California rains have other ideas!

A++++ for achieving transparent petals. Your tulips are very visually appealing. In fact, they're absolutely gorgeous and would make beautiful cards. So sorry about your patio door. I hope your repairs will completed quickly.

Linda, your beautiful tulips look like layers of thin tissue paper in the way in which you have watercolored them. SENSATIONAL! You really nailed this technique which requires a great deal of brush control(altho' she made it look so easy) Love the addition of the leaves...really balances out the composition.
