My inspiration is the third photo in the thumbnails. Normally I wouldn't look at a photo like that for very long but something grabbed me.
A year ago, when Russia invaded Ukraine, I bought a set of three WOW embossing powders in Ukraine's colors of blue and yellow, proceeds of which would go to the country. I have not used them but have been thinking about them the past few days. I guess the sunflowers in the photo grabbed me and also the denim. And for that matter, the watch.
My gel print was done with several colors of acrylic paint on the plate and a pair of child's jeans. Natasha Foote has a recent video of this and I was so intrigued, I went to Goodwill and bought a pair of little jeans. It was quite fun to make several prints and I hope you can see the little pocket on the right. I'm trying to think of other things that would be fun to use for gel printing. I've done leaves and plants and some tools.
I couldn't find my sunflower stamp (an old wood mounted one) so I used sort of a daisy, embossed with the three colors: blue sky, wheat field and united. I think the united one is blue and yellow together. I colored in with gel pens; this is the only part I'm not quite happy with, I need to do something different with those flowers but I so wanted to use those powders.
It's hard to believe it's been a whole year. I can't imagine what that year has been like. I thought the sentiment was perfect, mentioning sunflowers, friends, distance and time.

Such a thoughtful card, Jean, even from the use of children's jeans in your gel print. Lovely thoughts you put into it and the card is very well done! Hugz

Ooh what a cool idea, I knew people have been finding stamps at the goodwill and I have not been inside in years so, I actually drug my husband down there yesterday and walked out with old stamps haha. walking right past all the clothes racks. so, the whole idea of it is brilliant to me. Love the textures here Jean.
