It is my pleasure to be your hostess in the Color Challenge this week. True confessions: I picked these colors so I could use my new dies from Vicky Papaioannou and Spellbinders. The colors are: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, and Pool Party. The dessert option is "animals."
I had great fun cutting out all the pieces and assembling them to create my cute duck, all dressed up in her rain gear. I took the time to sponge the yellow and green pieces along the edges. That little touch really adds dimension to the figure. The pieces went together perfectly, thanks to etched lines in the dies that transferred to the pieces, so I knew just where to glue everything down. Speaking of glue, Vicky's new glue is everything I'd hoped for--quick drying and dries matte/invisible.
Once the duck was complete, I used a blending brush and cloud mask to create my background with Distress Oxide ink on Bristol paper. Stamped and die cut "Hello," and stamped the other sentiment with Black archival ink.
I'm looking forward to seeing lots of animals of every kind in the gallery this week. Won't you join us? We can have our own zoo!

Super de duper Cuteness, Barbara! I guess there's nothing wrong with being over prepared with rain gear and umbrella even though water rolls right off a duck's back. Love your sponging to add definition to Mr. Ducky.

Barb, thanks for the fun colors this week. I would guess one of the perks of being a part of the core Design Team is picking colors you want to use! And these are perfect for your sweet ducky all decked out for a rainy day. So cute!
