When I saw the teapot this week, it pushed my mind straight to Steampunk and I let it take me where it wanted. I had considered a waterfall card or pop up box but was afraid my gears and cogs would get hung up on each other so went with the action wobble.
I made the bg by dragging the trio of DOX inkpads randomly over watercolor paper. Spritzed heavily with water then laid the geometric stencil over it and let dry. I think it gives the look of rusty pipes off in the distance. Die cut a bunch of cogs & gears and layered them together. Made a homemade action wobble with some 26-gauge craft wire and used that to attach the center cluster of sprockets. I attached my panel to the cardbase with brass eyelets to continue the industrial look. Finished with a hand lettered sentiment.

Perfect card to entertain an engineer and who doesn't love a wobble! Love the bg you created for this and all the little details that make this card pop, like the rivets and the metallic papers. Great card for any guy, but this should especially be enjoyed by John the Engineer.

Wow, you made your own wobble out of wire? Now that is talent! Big talent. This is such a great look. Love your background and all the gears. GREAT card, Linda. Hugz

this is awesome. This reminds me that I have a couple of Wobbles somewhere... I have a die with the gears that I have never used. I like the look of the different colors.. perfect for a masculine card.

I totally love this. The teapot was inspiring, wasn't it. I wished I'd had time to make another card based around it. Your gears are just totally fantastic.
