It's my pleasure to host the Inspiration Challenge (IC892) this week and I chose Vintagraph.com & their Pinterest Board. THIS was my inspiration. I love vintage postcards and as a Texas native, this one really appealed to me.
My mini slimline card was made by first die cutting then sponging the ink colors onto the white panel. The words Greetings & from (2 different sets) were stamped in the upper left corner. The stitched letters, longhorn's horns, the cowboy on horseback & hat were die cut from a thick calendar page. After I arranged the TEXAS where I wanted it, I placed semi-tacky piece of tape over them & lifted them up. Two more of each letter was die cut out of white & arranged to shadow the letters. Then I put glue on the back side, attached it to a piece of cobalt blue & hand trimmed around the the letter group. I used the same blue to cut the ground then attached the longhorn, hat & horse w/ cowboy.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ more pics & products: The Write Stuff

Wow, as I was browsing this same poster inspired me too! How fun that your Texas roots inspired you to make this fabulous card. Now I might have to rethink what I'll do as I have not even started making my challenge card yet, but so happy this was your chose today!! Absolutely love it!!!

Julie, what a perfect tribute to rural Texas. I have the exact same card, as the inspiration piece. I love postcards and collected many during the 20 years I visited my son in Austin.
