My oldest son Joshua bought me a trio of gilding flakes for Christmas. I liked the gold I used to have but the new copper ones are so pretty. I needed a retirement card for a friend of my husband. She likes birds and florals so I painted this blue bird. I used white gel pen to add highlights to the eye of the bird. I added drops of Aleeneâs tacky glue and added the copper gilding flakes.

This bluebird is darling! I agree, the copper colored flakes added just the right touch. I love using copper and don't see it nearly as much. Looks terrific! TFS!
