It was great fun to look through her gallery. I was impressed by all the different fancy card folds. My goal this first month of the year is to find easy/quick ways to use up printed paper and to fill my birthday card bin. I was drawn to this card:
I started by looking in a drawer of papers gifted to me by a local friend. I thought Carol's paper had a little bit of a vintage look, so I leaned towards this floral piece I found. It was not big enough to go across. I changed the card orientation. Then I matted the paper with an embossed colored panel and put a smaller piece on another panel for the inside. I changed to theme and stamped Happy Birthday and then die-cut into a banner.
I wanted to have an embellishment as Carol did and found this antique/vintage brad that went so nicely with the paper. Easy to make, maybe not as easy to mail. I am glad to use up some of the paper that was generously shared with me.
Thanks Carol for sharing your wonderful cards with us and for inspiring mine today! TFL

That paper is gorgeous and I love the vintage feel of it. Your brad was the perfect compliment -- adds a bit of interest but does not detract from the focal point of your gorgeous floral. Beautiful matting creating one beautiful card. You have a great start on filling that bin.

We have the same goals - I need to use up paper and make more birthday cards too. It is even cooler we used the same birthday stamp!
Beautiful paper, Diane, and a lovely card/case. Hugz and Happy New Year
