Linda has us playing with the dry brush technique.
The video is very clear you need textured watercolor paper. We have NO watercolor paper in the house after the 10,000 pictures the Grands painted over the Christmas holidays. They love watercolor paper. I plan to get some more today.
So I tried it without watercolor paper and it still came out reasonably well. Super fun technique, Linda, thank you for sharing it with us. The video artist is very good.

You have been painting some beautiful creations. These two cards are beautiful with the smooth paper. Thanks for joining us and showing us that dry brushing likes a rough texture.

Beautiful paintings, Nancy, and I love those sentiments. I'm thinking you got up before work and did these. I don't know how you do it. Your flowers look so pretty among the grasses. Good job.
Those grands will be great artists someday. I would have to hide my watercolor paper. Ha

you know there is a cardstock by a company called Sundance they have a line called natural felt and its not a plastic coated paper like Bazzill but, has texture so, I am guessing it would work in a pinch for this kind of thing with less water in the paint too these turned out so pretty Nancy.

You are a super grandma to let the "littles" use up your whole stash of WC paper! You definitely made this work for you but do try it again on WC paper for the full effect of the dry brush in the background. All those tiny flowers give such a joyful feel to these paintings.

Gorgeous! Your paintings on both are so perfect. The wind blowing and bending the grass is amazing. The BG is beautifully done, too. Happy New Year. May the year keep you safe and healthy...
