This card is for the Alpha challenge B = Bicycle. It is also for Jeans MMJ challenge.
I started out gathering the items I required for Jeans challenge which included:
2 x lolly wrappers after I had eaten the choccies
Recycled Mothers Day wrapping paper. I fussy cut a bunch of flowers out of this
A childhood memory. A bicycle, which also fits with the alpha challenge.
I had a blue bicycle when I was 5. I never had another bike until my 30s, but I did ride my brothers bicycle which was also blue. Lots of stories about that bicycle as it was way too big for me. I had lots of war wounds to show after riding it.
Back to my card. I cut the lolly wrappers up and used the floral cellophane edges and stuck them behind my stamped and torn BG layer. Look for the crinkly bits.
Fussy cut the flowers out of the wrapping paper. I now wish I had cut three bunches and layered them but too late now. They are very sparkly.
The hardest part on this card was the bicycle. I think I have only used this stamp set once before and not the bike. It just would not stamp and thank goodness for my Misti which I resorted to in the end. It was also fiddly to fussy cut and especially when cutting 3 bikes to layer. Added my usual stickles and WoS.
Stamped the sentiment and die cut a tag, adding bling and more gold.
The sticker was cut out of a vintage book.
TFL. Happy day

Ok, love the 42,000 details including the cut up lolly papers (genius) and the fact that the blue bike has stories behind it. What a great card with great history behind it. You do collage so magically. Hugz

Ditto to all that Nancy said, especially the last statement. How simply charming....I remember my first bike (after the tricycle of course) and I wiped out several times riding it. The area where my house was built was a newer development, post WWII, and the roads were still being created. New tar and gravel means that one got gravel in one's knee. I still have scars on my knees from that. But that was all good memories so thanks for that.

Fantastic creation Jayne! Love all the gazillion details! It's fun to be reminded of our younger, more resilient years. I don't know how I'd fare riding a bike these days if I fell. LOL Jean, I remember those "war wounds" with tar and gravel mixed into the scraped knees. Ouch!

My first bike was turquoise. You have brought back memories to me, lol. This is such a charming birthday card, Jayne. And like Nancy said, this looks magical!

The first bike I had was also blue. I still have a scar on my left elbow from crashing going down a big hill and the end of the pedal jabbed into my elbow. When I see that hill now, it doesn't look so big, but it was then. Love this card and all the texture on it.
