A few weeks ago, I woke up to see the sky looking like this (well, almost like this!) just before we got our first big snowstorm here in Southern MN. This challenge was the perfect opportunity to try to do it justice!
The Penny Black stamp scene is one stamp. I stamped it lightly in the Grey Wool to give me a working horizon, masked it off, then did the ink blending. (I left the stamp in the MISTI--how did we ever make cards without that handy tool??). Put the panel back into the MISTI when the ink blending had dried, and re-stamped using the New England Ivy ink first on the trees, and then Tuxedo Black for the shadows and horizon line. Added some of the pearl paint to the trees for snow (not real happy about the way that turned out, but didn't want to start over, lol!)
I thought the snow looked a bit too white, so I lightly colored here and there with colored pencils (grey and light blue). Stamped "Peace" in the corner with Onyx Black.
Layered the finished panel onto black CS and added to the card front. TFL!
