My MIL is turning 92 next week and she is very into gnomes. I found a digi gnome for her card. I didn't mean for him to look so much like Christmas, but in matching the plaid bg paper, that's the way he turned out...
Here is my inspiration--when I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was a gnome. Fairy house by yoorah at Splitcoaststampers BUt that is an insult to Yoo-Rah's lovely card. There are so many beautiful details on her card.
I kept the same layout and turned her fairy house into a gnome. Only with the balloons do I echo her beautiful and delicate coloring.
Yes, he is paper pieced--even the balloons. Parts are colored and parts are dsp. The gift is just colored on the desp, but the ribbon was fussy cut and pasted on top of the gift. To get the strings for the balloons, etc, I printed him on the plaid dsp first.

Adorable gnome and your MIL will absolutely love him. I really studied this and I think you must have fussy cut and added the gnome over the printed image, but I cannot see any cut lines so maybe I'm wrong? What whatever you did to get the plaid bg and color him so beautifully without the plaid showing through (except on the gifts) -- BRAVO! Love the plaid hat. Fabulous card and such a fun way to celebrate with a loved one.
