I purchased this Joy of Sharing Christmas kit back in December 2020, plus a refill kit several months later, but I never got around to doing anything with it. My Mom sent me a Christmas card last year made from this kit...a bit of an alternative design...and it was so pretty. It gave me incentive to get the kit out and take it with me on my 5-day craft retreat earlier in September.
The kit + refill included (16) 5"x7" pre-folded Mossy Meadow cardbases with the front and back both green. I decided to cut them in half and mount them to white cardbases, now making it possible to have 32 cardbases with green fronts...way too many probably! This is the first of four designs that I made.
I used a different sentiment stamp than the one provided in the kit, because I wanted my sentiment to have a vertical placement (the kit stamp was horizontal). It is the Dove of Hope stamp set from the 2020 Holiday Mini catalog. I decided to ink distress ALL edges of cardstocks and die-cut pieces to give my card a more vintage and aged look.
I used two of the green cardbases provided: one to cover the white cardbase completely and the second cut smaller to pop up and use as the card front to which I added the gold metallic frame and poinsettia die-cuts. I cut and added a red petite dotted dsp panel to host the stamped sentiment label. The poinsettia centers were dressed up with gold metallic gems.
I browsed my unfinished SCS challenge list before beginning to see if I could make any changes to fit some of the challenge requirements. I was able to use 15 challenges, which are listed below:
1) F4A656 - Free 4 All Challenge/ Pick-A-Season - 9/16/22. Challenge: Pick any season & use seasonal colors, theme, images, or sentiment. My chosen season is Christmas.
2) AOCC22 - All Occasions Card Challenge/ September 2022 - 9/1/22. An annual ongoing challenge where you set goals ahead for cards needed each month throughout the year to help you complete and mail them more timely! This is a much needed card to add to my 2022 Christmas card stash.
3) USEIT2022 - Use It Challenge/ September 2022 - 9/1/22. An ongoing/ annual challenge that requires you to use OLD/ DUSTY and long unused items and/or OLD/NEW items purchased, never used, and seemingly forgotten! OLD/NEW items: 1)This Christmas card kit purchased in December 2020 and finally opened and made card #1. 2)Mini red dotted dsp under sentiment panel (purchased in 2016/ first time use).
4) ABC17F6 - Alphabet Challenge/ Letter F = Foil - 6/29/22. I have lots of gold metallic foil on my card!
5) MMTPT700 - Teapot Challenge/ Cross the Street - 12/21/21. Challenge: make a card for you neighbor across the street and drop it in their box. I've made a Christmas card for 2022 Christmas, which will be hand-delivered by mid-December.
6) WORD1221 - Fan Club Monthly Themes--December 2021/ Red Suits Black Boots - 12/15/21. My card fits the Central theme in using colors for my card that one would see Santa's elves wearing as they worked busily in the Christmas workshop getting presents ready for Christmas Eve deliveries! My card is the WORD Challenge for OPEN. My first letter elements are: O=Overlay, October Afternoon dsp; P=Pigment Ink, Poinsettia, Pop-up; E=Embellishment (metallic gems); N=Neutral color: Mossy Meadow (from SU Neutrals Collection), Open-cut frame die.
7) CC869 - Color Challenge/ Golden Cherries in the Shade - 11/9/21. I've used Cherry Cobbler and Gold (metallic), but substituted Mossy Meadow for Shaded Spruce. Christmas dessert requirement met!
IC807 - Inspiration Challenge/ Elle Decor - 5/22/21. Challenge: find inspiration for your card. I chose this image as it fit my mind's eye of what my card would look like: Decorate Like a Pro!
9) MIX432 - Mix-ability Challenge/ 5x7 - 5/7/21. Challenge: make a 5x7 inch card. Yeah, this kit features 5x7 cards! Mediums: pigment ink (ink distressing), foil framing, dye-ink stamping.
10) SCSCCMAY21 - Fan Club Christmas Card Challenge--May 2021/ Sketch - 5/1/21. Here is a link to the May 2021 Sketch: Sketch May 2021--Fan Club Christmas Challenge!] Sketch Tweak: changed oval to rounded-corner rectangle.
11) WT832 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ Cornered - 2/18/21. Challenge: make a card with photo corners, dies, punches, embellies, scraps, etc. My gold framing has pinecone die-cut corners.
12) FS711 - Featured Stamper Challenge/ Add a Little Salt & Pepper (aka pepperann / Patti) - 9/20/20. Challenge: Find a card to CASE...what inspired you, change at least 2 items and tell us what. I chose this card of Patti's for poinsettias as my kit was full of poinsettia die-cuts: Joy--Inspired by Dacia! I kept the Christmas theme, the poinsettia and holly berries. I changed my layout completely, added a gold frame, used pinecones and poinsettia die-cuts (not real silk flowers) and used a stamped sentiment verse (not a one-word die-cut).
13) CCC20SEP - Christmas Card Challenge/ Die-Cut Shapes - 9/1/20. Challenge: add die-cut shapes to your top panel. Let your image show through that shaped opening. I have lots of die-cut shapes, plus a frame. My sentiment focal piece shows through the center of my die-cut frame.
14) CAS569 - Clean & Simple/ Inspirational - 1/20/20. Challenge: create something inspirations..sentiment, image, anything to send inspiration to the recipient. My focal sentiment is a perfect inspiration and reminder of the real reason for the season.
15) SC676 - Sketch Challenge - 12/20/17. Sketch Tweak: My card is a 5x7-inch rectangular card rather than a square.

Gorgeous! The gold die cut frame adds an extra touch of sheen and elegance. I think your new neighbors will feel blessed to have such kind and talented people in their neighborhood. Fabulous card.

The poinsettia centers and gold foil really dress this card up and make it so elegant looking, Carlene! I've never used mossy meadow with real red, but do I ever like the way it looks on your card and the distressing adds to the nostalgia and takes it up a notch!

What a beautiful Christmas card, so pretty! I love the gold foil frame, very elegant. I never buy the kits but this one is lovely (they probably all are). I love poinsettias and this is wonderful.
