This is my card for CC912. LeAnn is our hostess and she chose crushed curry, poppy parade and garden green for her color trio. Dessert option this week is fall.
I decided to make a Thanksgiving card with these beautiful colors. For my leaves, I first die-cut my leaves from Bristol smooth cardstock and then sponged barn door and fozzilized amber distress ink. these colors are a good match for the Stampin' Up shades.
I pressed them in Ranger Perfect Medium and then used clear embossing powder. This technique makes the leaves really pop. It's a technique I picked up from Kittie aka Kittie747.
My background paper is from an older Paper Pumpkin kit- Gift of Fall. The sentiment is from the same kit. Finished off my card with a few crushed curry enamel dots. First Thanksgiving card of the season is done.
Hope you can play along with these beautiful fall colors.

This is beautiful, Mary. Love how you created the leaves. They do pop on the background. The sentiment is lovely. Wonderful display of the challenge colors and a Thanksgiving theme.

You are so attuned to what is in each paper pumpkin box and excel at incorporating individual pieces into your art. And, this beauty is no exception. Any friend would feel special when they receive this card!

What an absolutely stunning Thanksgiving card, Mary! I love the way you created the leaves, and I can see them shine. The background paper is perfect, too!

Stunning autumn creation, Mary! I was sure you had done the background with direct-to-paper ink pads! The leaves are so luminous and thank you for sharing your technique! Using the three colors for this week's challenge for your card front and mats resulted in such a gorgeous, vibrant card! Faved.
