I used Dawn Woleslagle's "no-fail watercolor" technique for my card. I inked the flower stamp from "Flora & Fauna 3" in 3 colors of Oxide inks with sponge daubers, spritzed it with a little water, & stamped it on my mixed media paper. Then I used a damp paintbrush to spread the color a bit. I stamped & "watercolored" portions of the image in the bottom & top left corners, just to provide more interest. For the bottom left, I didn't have quite enough ink on my stamp the first time, so I reinked & stamped again, doing my best to line up the stamp with the first impression. It was a hair off, but with this technique, it didn't matter.
I did the same technique for the mat, adding in stamps from "Vintage Ephemera." This time, I made sure to cover the panel with stamping so I had slightly more "solid" coverage. I ended up loving the mat panel so much that I cut out the center & used it as a background on another card.
After I'd finished all the stamping, I felt the upper right corner felt a little bare. I was too chicken at this point to add any splatters, just in case I ruined my work. So I ended up doing cross-stitches with a green floss that kind of went with the Rustic Wilderness color in the leaves. I like how that looks. I stamped the greeting with Onyx Black ink, added my panel to the mat, & adhered that to a white card base. I absolutely LOVE how this card came out!
