Lisaâs Ways to Use It challenge this week asks us to feature a country other than our own. I chose France. My son and BIL are both huge fans of bike racing, so the Tour de France is big in our family. And while others are busy talking about strategy or points or whatever technical biking thing they talk about, I happily watch the Tour coverage to see the beautiful places they pass through. I frequently announce that âIâm here for the sceneryâ when I join someone watching the tour on TV; I enjoy seeing the beautiful churches or interesting villages they speed through. My project this week is a tag, and I dug through a variety of stamps and supplies that havenât been used in ages. Most of these stamps came from grab bags purchased at stamp shows from various companies, and I donât know whatâs made by who. Thereâs an Eiffel Tower in black, a few French phrases, and an ornate gold corner piece. Thereâs also a French script pattern in Versmark over most of the tag, and the edges are sponged in brown. Somewhere I have a red-white-blue striped ribbon that would have been perfect, but I couldnât find it so I just used red and blue ribbons.

Oh ya...the scenery of France and actually all of Europe...that's why I love all those foreign movies and Brit shows. I love the idea that you dug through your stash and came up with the perfect items. Lovely!

What fun to be watching the scenery (not much of the Tour de France fan) as the riders go by. Your tag is just wonderful!!

I love this. I'm sorry you couldn't find your perfect ribbon, but the ones you did find do a great stand-in. I can vouch for it that some of the scenery is just stunning - though I imagine the cyclists don't see any of it themselves. We had thought of going back to the Col d'Aubisque (in the Pyrenees) this year, but it was a very hazy day and we weren't sure it would be worth it. Plus, even mid-June, it had only opened the day previously!
