Birthday cards...I need birthday cards! I just can't make enough birthday cards. I also need a card with well wishes for retirement for early June. The SCS Virtual Stamp Night is asking for flowers for a Summer Flower Festival!! So, with aa that in mind, I've definitely decided my card will feature flowers with a belated birthday/ retirement theme, all rolled into one. I needed to further search other SCS challenges that my card might fulfill. This search provided me with a total of 14 fairly new and old challenges that my card would fit. In case you were wondering, SCS welcomes completing a challenge at any time not just the week the challenge is presented!
My card needed to be fairly simple to meet the one-hour time limit for making cards for the VSN challenges, but I'm really happy with the outcome...four layers and another for the Sweet Sorbet inked flower and sentiment, both of which I popped.
1) JUN22VSNMINI2 - Virtual Stamp Night--Summer Festivals/ Festival of Flowers - 6/17/22 (mini-5/27/22). This is a pre-event mini challenge for flowers for the Dallas Flower Festival.
2) MSP58 - Misti Mondays Challenge/ Sentiment Spotlight - 6/10/22. Challenge: make your sentiment the focal point of your card. My sentiment uses a large stamped image and die-cutting and is popped up off the card front. To me, it catches your eye first and then you take in the other features of the card!
3) AOCC22 - All Occasions Card Challenge/ June 2022 (retirement) & March 2022 (birthday) - 6/1/22. An ongoing/monthly challenge that encourages you to set goals ahead for each month to help you complete and mail your cards more timely! My card is for a long-time friend and is for a dual purpose...a belated March birthday (yes very belated) and a June retirement.
4) USEIT2022 - Use It Challenge/ June 2022 (retirement) & March 2022 (birthday) - 6/1/22. An ongoing/ annual challenge that requires you to use OLD/ DUSTY and long unused items and/or OLD/NEW items purchased, never used, and seemingly forgotten! My NEW/OLD: SU--Basic Borders dies, purchased August 2021, and I'm finally opening the package and using them!
5) MIX487 - Mix-ability Challenge/ "Two-Lips" - 5/27/22...create a project with flowers or think comes in pairs. Mediums: dye-based stamping ink, Copic markers, SU markers.
6) DINSP0522 - Monthly Fan Club Challenge--May 2022/ Bring May Flowers - 5/15/22. My card meets the monthly theme of flowers and is the Inspiration challenge from the picture provided - Beautiful blues and reds floral!
7) CAS688 - Blooms - 5/2/22. Challenge: add something floral to your card. Flowers for a birthday and retirement to fulfill cards needed long before now! This one will serve a dual purpose!
TSBT722 - Twisted Sisters Bus Tour Challenge/ Spring - 3/1/22. I'm adding more flowers to spring!
9) MMTPT689 - Sending Smiles - 10/5/21. Challenge: add at least four elements that start with four letters in the word SMILE. S=Sending Smiles stamp, Scallop edging; M=mat layers, markers; I=ink; L=leaves, love; E=edge die. I'm late to the party, so this card will be a BD card rolled into a Happy Retirement card, sending hugs and kisses!
10) ABC14K11 - Alphabet Challenge/ Letter K = Kindness - 12/30/20.
11) IC780 - Cute Tape - 11/14/20. I chose this washi tape inspiration for its color palette from the "Cute Tape" website: Flowers Blossom Blue Pink Kimono!
12) FS703 - Limedoodle (aka Debby Hughes) - 7/26/20. I have long admired Debby's beautiful cards and art work. I don't do watercoloring of any kind, so I could never do justice to her cards, but here goes! I chose this card to CASE and add my changes: Watercolour Wildflowers! for its pretty wildflowers, which I kept the wildflower theme. I also chose it for color, though my colors are a much bolder version of her pastels.
13) SC791 - Sketch Challenge - 3/4/20. I flipped the sketch so that #3 = (dotted vertical dsp) is on the right side of card; #2 is scalloped edging rather than straight; #1 = white cardstock; and #4 & #5 are the die-cut and stamped sentiments.
14) Wednesday Tutorial/ Stamped Die Cuts - 1/10/18. Learn how to line up stamping with die-cut for precision die-cutting. Tutorial applied to stamp "Sending," which is then die-cut.

Car.ene, this card is simply beautiful. I love the scalloped edging on the border and the little blue polka dot paper peeking behind the image panel. I love the pure colours of the flowers, the layered sentiment and the multicoloured gems. Those little details mean so much. I have this bundle, but have not even opened it yet.

Beautiful card and so versatile. I can see many occasions you could use this for with just a quick change of the sentiment. Love the bits of dots peaking out the side and these colors are a great combo. Wonderful card.
