I guess I could do this kind of creating forever because I have a lot of ephemera. I know some scan their ephemera so they can keep using it but, to me, then it isn't really authentic. So use it and it's gone.
The pieces I used are: an old calling card on the upper right (you can lift the decorative part to see the owner's name, which is James Pribek); a lady's 'perfumed blotter' advertising piece (I'm guessing it was perfumed at one time and maybe used as a sachet?); an old photo of what looks like a bridesmaid, based on the rest of photo; some lace from Grandma Meyer; and a cut out from another calling card owned by Emma Skarban (the card was in bad shape so I just cut out the name). The photo is not Emma; Emma was a relative of my ex-husband's. Embellished with some Liquid Pearls. I'll probably decorate the inside and whomever is my partner will get a few pieces of real ephemera. PS I was thinking about the photo of the young woman. The other possibility is that it's from a college graduation. I know women would wear white dresses and carry flowers at graduations long ago. Or maybe it was a sorority thing. There were other young women in the picture but not dressed the same. The photo was a freebie from an Etsy seller. Dated 1944.

You always put a great amount of thought in all your cards. I appreciate seeing them with your artistic ability. Like how all the elements are real. TFS

Ohh- I love everything about this card- including my favorite type of lace! Love the ephemera you used. I did not know grad's in the 50's wore all white. The roses are such a fab touch as well.

I agree, the quality and feel of a scanned and printed item just isn't the same. And ephemera implies transient, passing. You are so good at using this type of thing, it's a style I really struggle with. I really like the contrast between the B&W photo and colorful pieces.

Love reading about your choices and of course, the choices themselves. What a fabulous card. I always appreciate your ability to pull together the bits and pieces of your life and share them with us in such creative ways. I considered using a photo of my father-in-law's 1st wedding but I wouldn't have done it justice.

What a great collection of vintage style items. Feels so good to use it up and create lovely cards with it for everyone to see - rather than keep it - just wish I would listen to myself - ha ha.
