I watched the WCW video this morning and tried to copy the style of it, but changed the squirrel to a lemur because I needed a card for my neighbor. He turns 18 tomorrow. My husband calls his âKing Julianâ. If youâve seen Madagascar, then youâll recognize King Julian on my card. I did his tail and crown in the same kind of style as the squirrel tail from the video. I printed out a lemur digi that I had gotten free from The Hungry JPEG as a guide and loosely sketched around it with fine black Sharpie. For the sketch, I stamped âHappy Birthdayâ at the top and printed âTime to be adultingâ (in my best King Julian impression) and made the words into coconuts. I didnât have room for the coconuts at the bottom of the card, so I had to cut a 5 x 7 card base and add an extra piece of smooshed watercolor paper at the bottom of the card. The whole card is a little wonky, but hopefully Julian will like it anyway. I canât believe how big all my little neighborhood boys are getting!

Look at you - taking a walk on the wild side today! Good job on your lemur and incorporating the techniques into paining his fur. Great detail in "de tail" and those eyes are so cool!

How creative!!! I love your lemur and his eyes. Your card is so fun. Yep, they grow up fast.
I am sure Julian will have a smile when he gets this card.
