I found a card on Pinterest that had the same greeting & a layered(?) die cut guitar. To create my own version, I found a guitar image (free) online that I downloaded. The image was pre-colored, but where's the fun in that? ;) So I altered it in Photoshop to be monochrome, and increased the brightness & contrast to take out most of the shading, so it became just a line-art image. After I sized it to fit, I printed it onto a piece of vellum bristol paper, and colored it with my colored pencils.
I used a panel of purple patterned paper from my scrap stash for the right side of the card front. I embossed the silver metallic cardstock, & adhered them to a navy mat. I glued the guitar in place, & added the letters I'd die cut from black cardstock for the greeting. Initially, I was going to have the "you rock" letters just on the patterned paper background, but the pattern kind of competed with them. So (before I glued them down), I swiped some white craft paint on the paper where they would go. That gave enough of a plain background for them, and I think also added to the "funk" look! I am donating this card to Send a Smile 4 Kids. Hopefully a child who is an inpatient at one of the children's hospitals they serve will choose this to send to his/her dad for Father's Day.
