For today's challenges!
As I've said before (ad infinitum), I don't own many music themed stamps. I'm a music snob and very picky. I own that. So most of mine are old and wood mounted, hardly if ever used. So I gathered all my possibilities and decided to do a slimline because....I had a lot to say!
As I looked at my images, they covered the gamut of music through the ages. I love the big Stampington ancient music stamp, with all its square note heads and Latin. I'm a big fan of old music, like chant; I find it very soothing. Then there are the smaller stamps with musical terms and clefs, used starting in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. And finally, ALL THAT JAZZ, the great American music offering. Finally, the universal quote about music: where words fail, music speaks. Just think of all the occasions in our lives, happy and sad, where music plays an important part.
My substrates are from my stash: an alcohol ink attempt with a hair dryer to create circles. The small panels are something I made with metallic acrylic paints for some reason. I've decided I like the mystery of what techniques I did and why.
As I said, I'm a musical snob, but I don't like hanging around musicians, because most are more snobby than I am. I am a snob when it comes to the caliber of musicianship but I dislike it when musicians 'name drop' or want to know what kind of flute I play (it's old!) or what pieces I've performed. We are a needy bunch. One more thing: I went to a concert of the Menomonee Falls Symphony last weekend. No auditions necessary, most everyone had gray hair. It was certainly not high caliber playing, although they played high caliber music, but at least they're continuing their musical life, unlike me, who hasn't played in a long time. Bravo and brava to them! Music can last a lifetime.

Love this, Jean. Particularly the old music stamp. Has me wanting to dig out my old psalter, but I think the notes in it are not totally square. And the AI background it's on is amazing.

I sat and visited this for a VERY long time! It is another of your really wonderful, deep, heARTful cards. I scrolled up numerous times to take it all in. I love the collaged words, they add movement to your card. Just like movement in music, right? Your commentary was enlightening and interesting...I am going to image you getting out your flute and see where the muse takes you...let me know eJ!
Such a coolio card.
