First things first: this is for last week's tea party for ourselves. Mary Jo tasked us with sharing a recipe for something that we would enjoy with tea and making a card to go along with it. I was out of town last week and, while I took along supplies, I didn't have what I needed for this challenge (which I adore, btw). I love anything with almond extract and nuts so I will enclose a simple recipe for an almond danish that I haven't made in years. I don't bake much because I will EAT IT ALL!
I was led to 'almond something' because of this dress from the IC: https://anniecloth.com/products/famo...ariant=1352693
I actually own a shirt with this Van Gogh painting of almond trees. I happened to have an album of Van Gogh wrapping paper so I chose two pieces and alternated them. You'll see the almond trees moreso on the front.
This is also for yesterday's FS. Congrats to Deb! I chose this because it was a slimline, the ribbon, the teal color: Squared Floral Rainbow Slimline Birthday by dcmauch at Splitcoaststampers
I came across this envelope template in my stencil stash, hadn't used it in forever. I have always used it more as a card base. I like the wonky shape, I thought it was a good contrast to the traditional papers and stamps I used, while still sort of slimline. It's all hand cut so not perfect by any means. I used a lot of tea themed stamps, as you can see; I have two sets from Club Scrap. There is a lot of that teal color in the almond tree painting and Deb focused on that color for her embellishments. Her choices of floral and leaf stamps is reflected in the tree branches and blossoms. Take a look at the photo of the front, I think it will make more sense.
