We're sharing favourite teatime recipes. Hmm, I would have too many, but I do admit I found it hard to take inspiration from any of them for a card. Right now I'm working on perfecting crumpets - I left it too long after my previous attempts and forgot all the lessons I had learned. Anyway, what I went with was chocolate brownies - a favourite since childhood. I like them gooey and fudgy, DH likes them more set and cakey, so I get the centre ones and he gets the edges. Warm out of the oven with cream and fresh raspberries - yum! My childhood recipe was from The Joy of Cooking, these days I use one from Anna Thomas, which is what will be included in my card.
I thought the swirls in the gel print were a bit like when you start mixing the melted chocolate and butter into the beaten eggs and sugar. The flowers are purely decorative . I used part of a Cheery Lynn flourish, and popped the gel print piece up on chipboard for dimension.

LOL what you said reminds me of fairy tale---Jack Spratt could eat no fat and his wife could eat no lean so between them they ate the platter clean. does look like the mixture swirling and the flowers just add to your card--cute one for sure

I have to agree with DH on the brownie issue - I ALWAYS head to the edge pieces and can easily take a pass if only the center cuts are left. I would say the Chocolate DSP and sentiment probably sum up your recipe in a card.

Love your story on the brownies (and it’s great that you and dh have different preferences so you’re not fighting over the same pieces). Beautiful flower on your gel print! I have that set and haven’t used it for too long; time to ink it up again.

Sabrina,
Well the bg paper sure reminds me of chocolate! The flowers are so lovely! Your brownies sound amazing! You are like my number four son, he takes all the center pieces out of the pan when I make brownies!
