My sample card for the Color Challenge. Barbara selected two blues and a green with the dessert option of water. Since I had Blends markers in all the colors, I wanted to color in an image. I thought of this cute Rainy Days girl. I had fun coloring her outfit with coordinating umbrella. I did use the new SU Natural Tones Blends markers from the new All Together Suite, as a neutral for her skin tone.
The raindrop-shaped epoxy drops fit right over the stamped raindrops. I used Wink of Stella on the areas that may have gotten wet from the rain, such as the umbrella, boots, bow, her sleeve. The panel was matted on Night of Navy foil with a piece on the sides.
The marbled background was done with the Shaving Cream technique found in the tutorial section. I thought this piece looked like water flowing on the ground. It was the first time I had used the technique on Shimmery White cardstock, which gave it an interesting texture & a different look from the glossy cardstock. The subtle sparkle of the paper is so pretty. I applied Wink of Stella on all the darker Navy areas which brought out the sparkle all the more and looks amazing. I wish I could capture it in the photo.
Fabulous colors to play with and fun dessert theme. I look forward to seeing all your creative ideas!

Diane, your sweet little girl is adorable, and so beautifully colored! I can't take my eyes off that marbled background! I've used the shaving cream technique, but never got a result like this! It's gorgeous!

Diane the shaving cream technique was a great idea for this week's colors! I wish I would have thought of it! I've not tried this on shimmery white cardstock! Love all the detail you've added to bring everything to life! Beautiful and thanks for the inspiring ideas!

Diane, your blends coloring of that sweet little girl is wonderful! Love your shaving cream panel and the shiny blue matting.
